The $100 note entered circulation on 29 December 2023 as part of the CBSI's upgrade of its highest-denomination paper notes, replacing the earlier Optiks security thread with a cutting-edge Nexus micro-optic stripe. The obverse features abstract patterns representing swirling shoals of fish, the Solomon Islands flag and coat of arms, conveying a prevailing sense of rightward movement. The reverse depicts scenes of traditional coconut cultivation and harvesting, including images of an open coconut, a coconut shell necklace, and palm trees, reflecting the central importance of coconut farming to the Solomon Islands economy and culture.
