The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) issued this Rs. 2,000 circulated commemorative note on 29 August 2025 to mark its 75th anniversary (1950–2025), themed 'Stability for Prosperity'. It is the fifth commemorative currency note in CBSL history and enters general circulation with a planned print run of 50 million pieces. The obverse features the Central Bank headquarters building in Colombo, the Colombo Lighthouse Clock Tower, and the Colombo skyline silhouette alongside the 75th anniversary logo. The reverse displays a stylised map of Sri Lanka, a water lily, the lion holding a sword from the national coat of arms, and the anniversary logo. The note measures 151×67 mm in a predominantly blue colour scheme.
