The obverse of this large-denomination note bears a portrait of President Bashar Hafiz al-Assad at center-right, along with a view of the People's Council of Syria building in Damascus. The note is printed on paper with a predominantly purple color scheme. It was part of a series that included successive reprintings from 2015 through 2021. The 2,000-pound note was later withdrawn from circulation following the fall of the Assad government in late 2024.
