100 Baht
The Bank of Thailand issued this commemorative 100 Baht banknote on April 14, 2025, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Thailand's Ministry of Finance (1875-2025). The note is identical in size and specifications to the regular 100 Baht banknotes of the 17th Series but is distinguished by the commemorative inscription.
The obverse features the portrait of King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X, the current Thai monarch) in his official capacity, with the inscription "150 Years Ministry of Finance April 14, 2025" displayed in red on the lower front edge and in the lower portion of the note. The design maintains the established characteristics of Thailand's 100 Baht denomination while marking this significant institutional milestone.
The reverse depicts two historic Thai monarchs—King Chulalongkorn (Rama V, 1868-1910) and King Vajiravudh (Rama VI, 1910-1925)—recognizing their roles in establishing and developing the Ministry of Finance as an institution. This commemorative issue was released in special packaging that includes a matching commemorative coin of the same anniversary theme.
The banknote remains full legal tender for all transactions. The Bank of Thailand made this note available both for general circulation and through special numismatic channels, allowing collectors and the public to commemorate this institutional anniversary.
