1 Rubl'
The August 2024 Transnistrian commemorative 1 Rubl issue features the standard banknote design with a distinctive commemorative red overprint to differentiate it from the base circulation design. This variant is specifically distinguished by the addition of a prominent red-colored inscription and Bank of Pridnestrovie logo overlay on the standard Alexander Suvorov and Kitskansky Bridgehead imagery. The overprint inscription reads: '30 YEARS OF THE PRIDNESTROVIAN RUBLE,' emphasizing the 30-year milestone of the currency since its establishment in 1994.
This commemorative variant was distributed with a special commemorative folder to collectors and commemorative currency enthusiasts, making it distinct from the standard commemorative issue (e157) which lacks the overprint. Production was limited to 1,500 units, making this a relatively scarce commemorative issue. The note remains legal tender in Transnistria at face value of 1 Rubl.
The two distinct versions of the 2024 commemorative 1 Rubl note — one plain and one with the red overprint and folder — reflect the Transnistrian Republican Bank's practice of issuing multiple commemorative variants for significant anniversaries, catering to both general commemorative interest and dedicated numismatic collectors.
