Ukraine · National Bank of Ukraine (Natsionalnyi bank Ukrainy)
The 500 hryvnia banknote printed in 2021 entered circulation on 23 March 2021 as part of the National Bank of Ukraine's ongoing modernisation of its banknote series. It retains the established design honouring Hryhorii Skovoroda (1722-1794), an outstanding Ukrainian philosopher, poet, and pedagogue, alongside the Kyiv Mohyla Academy — the first institution of higher education in Ukraine, founded in 1632. The note measures 75 x 154 mm and is printed on beige-tinted special paper with embedded security elements.
