The 20 Pesos Uruguayos polymer banknote features epic poet Juan Zorrilla de San Martin (1855-1931) prominently on the obverse, with a large portrait at center-right and a smaller image within a clear window at left. The reverse depicts the Allegory of the Fatherland Legend (Alegoria de la Leyenda Patria), represented as an angel, alongside handwritten verse from Zorrilla's epic poem Tabare. Printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire on polymer substrate measuring 139 x 67 mm, this note entered regular circulation on October 3, 2020 (Heritage Day) alongside updated security features compared to the prior 2015 paper series.
