The 1,000,000 Bolivares Soberano banknote was announced on March 5, 2021 and entered circulation on March 8, 2021, becoming the largest denomination in Venezuela's monetary history. The obverse features national hero and liberator Simon Bolivar in yellow and light brown tones, while the reverse depicts the Coat of Arms of Venezuela, the Triumph Arch, and the painting 'Batalla de Carabobo' by Martin Tovar y Tovar, commemorating the decisive 1821 battle whose 200th anniversary fell in 2021. The note measures 156 x 69 mm and was issued as part of the late-stage Bolivar Soberano series before Venezuela's third redenomination in October 2021, when 1,000,000 Bolivares Soberanos became equal to 1 Bolivar Digital.
