The 10,000 CFA franc note is the highest denomination issued by the BCEAO for the eight-member West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). Notes bearing the letter 'T' are allocated to Togo, one of the union's founding members. The 2022 date edition continues the design series first introduced to highlight modern technology and regional biodiversity, representing WAEMU's shared monetary sovereignty across Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.
