The 2 Kwacha note is the lowest denomination of Zambia's current banknote family, introduced after the January 2013 rebasing that replaced the old kwacha at a rate of 1,000:1. The 2022 date edition, signed by Bank of Zambia Governor Dr. Denny H. Kalyalya, represents an upgraded-security reprint of the existing series design. Its gray coloring and compact size (140 x 70 mm) distinguish it from higher denominations and aid sorting. The roan antelope on the reverse is one of Zambia's most emblematic savanna mammals.
